CheckPapuaNow.com – Papua, one of the largest islands in Indonesia, is renowned for its incredible natural beauty. In addition to its tropical forests and breathtaking mountains, the island is home to many pristine beaches that remain relatively undiscovered by tourists. Here are 10 beaches in Papua that offer stunning landscapes and tranquility, perfect for adventurers and those looking to relax by the sea.

1. Bosnik Beach

Located on Biak Island, Bosnik Beach captivates visitors with its white sand and crystal-clear waters. Visitors can enjoy activities like snorkeling and swimming in the calm sea. “Bosnik Beach is a favorite spot for tourists who want to experience unspoiled natural beauty,” said Yudi, a local tour guide.

2. Harlem Beach

Harlem Beach, located in Jayapura Regency, is known for its peaceful atmosphere and stunning ocean views. This beach remains relatively quiet, making it an ideal destination for those seeking solitude. “Harlem is a hidden beach offering tranquility that’s hard to find elsewhere,” said Tika, a visitor from Jakarta.

3. Base-G Beach

Base-G Beach, located near downtown Jayapura, is easily accessible and popular among locals and tourists. With its calm waves, it’s an excellent spot for swimming and family picnics. “Base-G holds historical significance as it was a landing site for Allied troops during World War II,” explained Anton, a local historian.

4. Amai Beach

Amai Beach offers a unique experience where fresh and saltwater meet at the river’s estuary. This distinctive feature makes Amai Beach a favorite for visitors looking for something different. Guests can enjoy the scenic view while swimming in the brackish waters.

5. Tablanusu Beach

Tablanusu Beach, located in Jayapura Regency, stands out with its black pebbles covering the shore instead of sand. The beauty of this beach is enhanced by its clear waters and surrounding natural environment. Snorkeling is highly recommended here, where visitors can easily explore the beautiful coral reefs.

6. Yen Beba Beach

Yen Beba Beach is situated in Raja Ampat, a globally renowned tourist destination. Surrounded by spectacular natural scenery, this beach offers a peaceful ambiance with its white sand and mesmerizing blue waters. “The beauty of Raja Ampat is undisputed, and Yen Beba is one of its hidden gems,” said Linda, a tourist from Bandung.

8. Rumberpon Island Beach

Rumberpon Island, located in Teluk Wondama, offers pristine beaches with white sand and clear blue waters. The island is also home to diverse marine life, making it a paradise for divers. Visitors can see beautiful coral reefs and a variety of tropical fish swimming around the island.

9. Numfor Island Beach

Numfor Island in Biak Numfor Regency boasts exotic beaches with white sand and crystal-clear waters. The beaches on Numfor remain relatively untouched by tourists, offering a more private vacation experience. One of the most popular beaches is Nudamati Beach, where visitors can enjoy the serenity while taking in the beautiful natural surroundings.

10. Pasir Timbul Beach

Pasir Timbul Beach in Raja Ampat is a unique destination, as this beach only appears during low tide. The stretch of white sand emerging in the middle of the sea creates a spectacular view, making it a major attraction for tourists. “Walking on the sand in the middle of the ocean is an experience you shouldn’t miss when visiting Raja Ampat,” said Putri, a nature photographer.

Sustainable Beach Tourism

Papua has incredible tourism potential, but it’s important to preserve the natural environment amidst the increasing number of visitors. Many beaches in Papua remain untouched and well-preserved, so visitors are encouraged to participate in keeping the beaches clean and not harming the ecosystem.

“Papua has many beaches that are still unexplored, and this natural beauty must be preserved so that future generations can also enjoy it,” explained Arman, a local environmental activist. Raising awareness about the importance of environmental conservation ensures that Papua’s beaches will remain beautiful for a long time.

From Bosnik Beach to Pasir Timbul, Papua offers extraordinary natural beauty. With beaches that are mostly untouched by mass tourism, visitors can experience serenity and enjoy the pure beauty of nature.
