CheckPapuaNow.com – Five students from Abepura District, Papua, were caught by police during a raid while they were enjoying alcoholic drinks and narcotics marijuana around the Venue Dayung Hamadi Jayapura. The incident occurred on Saturday night (4/27) along New Road to Holtekamp Beach.
According to the Chief of Patrol of Jayapura City Police, Sergeant Sianturi, officers on routine patrol at the Tanah Hitam Patrol Post spotted the five students gathered at the Venue Dayung. As they approached, the officers saw a package being thrown in their direction. Upon inspection, it was found to contain marijuana in two medium-sized clear plastic bags.
“The five individuals were immediately taken to the Jayapura City Police Station to be handed over to the Narcotics Unit for further investigation,” said Sergeant Sianturi.
Sergeant Sianturi added that the actions of the five students were regrettable, considering they were still students but openly engaged in illegal activities. They appeared to have no fear of the legal consequences of their actions.
Currently, the five students are being handled by the Narcotics Unit of the Jayapura City Police. Sergeant Sianturi emphasized that the Precision Patrol of the Jayapura City Police is always ready to be among the community to maintain security and order in Jayapura City.
